Cocktails For Your Waistline

There’s nothing like a refreshing cocktail on a hot or long day. Unfortunately, most of the tasty ones aren’t good for your waistline. Here are 8 tempting low-cal (150 or less); I’m not kidding! Even better, they taste a-ma-zing.

Sweet & Low Local

2 oz. Camarena Silver Tequila, ½ of a lemon, quartered, 8 mint leaves, 1 tbsp. sugar-free sweetener 3 oz. soda water

Garnish: lemon wedge

Muddle lemon, mint, and sweetener in a cocktail shaker.

Add tequila and ice. Shake vigorously and pour into a

tall glass. Top with soda water and stir gently.

Petite in Pink

4 oz. VOGA Sparkling Wine, 2 oz. lemonade ½ oz. lemon juice, Splash of cranberry juice Garnish: mint leaves.

Combine all ingredients in cocktail glass filled with ice.

Stir, and garnish with mint leaves.

Slim ‘N Sexy V

1½ oz. Rémy Martin V, 1 oz. pomegranate juice

½ oz. lime juice

Garnish: lime wedge

Combine all ingredients in a tall glass filled with ice. Stir, and garnish with a lime wedge.

Itsy Bitsy Bikini

1 oz. X-Rated Fusion Liqueur, 1½ oz. SKYY Infusions Coconut Vodka, 1 oz. diet lemon-lime soda

3 oz. light cranberry juice

Garnish: shredded coconut

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously, strain into a glass filled with ice, and top with shredded coconut.

ICEy Slide

1 oz. bourbon, 1 oz. dry vermouth

Black Raspberry Sparkling ICE, Garnish: blackberries

Combine all ingredients in a tall glass, stir, and garnish

with blackberries.

Peach Kiss

2 oz. X-Rated Fusion Liqueur, 4 oz. peach tea

Garnish: peach slices

Make peach tea first by boiling a cup of water and

placing the tea bag in the cup. Let it sit for 2 minutes, then place cup in the refrigerator to chill for 10 minutes. In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine all ingredients and shake vigorously. Strain into a highball glass filled with ice, and garnish with peach slices.

Slender Sauzarita

Serves 8

10 oz. Sauza Blue Silver Tequila, 3 oz. orange juice

3 oz. lime juice, 3 oz. lemon juice, 1 oz. agave nectar

Garnish: lime wheel

Combine ingredients in a pitcher filled with ice. Stir vigorously, pour into a martini glass, and garnish with a lime wheel.

Red Wine Spritzer

3 oz. red wine, 6 oz. club soda

Garnish: fruit wedge

Pour red wine and club soda into a coupe filled with ice. Garnish with a fruit wedge.

Vodka Soda with Lime

1 shot of vodka (around 1.5 oz)

Club soda

Fresh lime juice

Fill a glass with ice, add vodka, top with club soda, squeeze fresh lime juice and garnish with a lime wedge. This drink is very low in calories and sugar-free.

Gin and Tonic with Cucumber

1 shot of gin (around 1.5 oz)

Tonic water

Fresh cucumber

Fill a glass with ice, add gin, top with tonic water, (you can also use diet or slimline tonic water) add a few slices of fresh cucumber and stir.

Grapefruit Margarita

1.5 oz of tequila

Fresh grapefruit juice (around 2 oz)

Fresh lime juice (around 0.5 oz)

Club soda

Salt (optional)

Rim glass with salt (optional), fill the glass with ice, add tequila, fresh grapefruit juice, and lime juice, top up with club soda and stir.

Raspberry Lemonade Cocktail

1 shot of vodka (around 1.5 oz)

Fresh lemon juice (around 2 oz)

Fresh raspberries (around 10)

Club soda

Sweetener (optional)

Instructions: Muddle fresh raspberries in a cocktail shaker, add ice, vodka, and lemon juice, shake well. Strain the mixture into a glass filled with ice, top up with club soda, and sweeten with a low-calorie sweetener if desired.
